DIY Birth Announcement!
Monday, April 2nd, 2012It’s a girl just born a few hours ago! Our 5th grandchild! This little announcement gave me instant gratification! Anyone can go out and purchase a gift for a newborn however I opted to personalize my gift with a custom birth announcement that Emily can hang on her bedroom wall!
I used the fabulous Deutica Mandolyn font styles to create the message and created the boarder from some of my original artwork! I think my Daughter-in-Law will be pleased!

Chalkboard China Love Note
Monday, February 13th, 2012This months Duetica Font project is all about chalk! Say what? Yes chalk! I printed out the words: Love is all you need.
By using several of Duetica’s Mandolyn font styles I added some of the swirls on a few of the letters for a little bit more pizzaz. I then rubbed chalk onto the back side of the paper and traced it onto one of my new favorites finds “Chalkboard China”.
This dinner ware is so darn cute and comes in a variety of styles from plates, glasses, vases, etc. For the Chalkboard vase, I doodled some half circles to create a different look although you could always write another love note on it!
What a clever way to tell someone you love them in a very special way. More love notes coming your way on V-Day!

Wedding Bliss—Simple but Memorable
Monday, August 15th, 2011
Simple but memorable—that’s the whole idea behind any event especially weddings! So to put a “simple” spin on displaying various vignettes for an upcoming wedding, I thought it would be fun to have each guest send ”messages” and well wishes in a bottle to the bride and groom. I used vintage bottles, brown paper, some twine and Duetica’s Floot font to give the look of handwritten.
BTW: My handwriting isn’t the greatest so this a great way to get your message across with Duetica’s fonts.
Although there will be many other vignettes, this one is the drink station. Keeping with the theme of brown paper and simple styling, this area creatively invites guests to “Pour Your Heart Out” and makes for a fun way to say cheers.
Be sure to check out all my other design team members to see what they came up with using this simple font system!
