When you walk into a room whether it’s your own or your neighbors, do you see an exclamation point (!!!) —or — a question mark (???)?

While some interior spaces are filled with eye candy others never quite hit the mark. You know the rooms I’m referring to right? You look around and just can’t quite figure out why you don’t get that warm and welcoming feel.

So how do you personalize your space? Well, check out these simple tips and essential elements.

PERSONALIZE YOUR SPACE!

  • Put a spin on your space. Add an unexpected splash of color on a rug, the wall, in some pillows or other home accessories. Little touches like these can reinvent your space for a small amount of money and time!
  • Add something that is uniquely yours. Make your shelf’s come alive with a unique collection. Do you love music? Scatter vintage musical instruments around a room for instant conversation pieces. Follow me?
  • Go on a treasure hunt! Whether you scope out your attic, basement, home or simply love the thrill of shopping at flea markets, thrift stores, etc you’re bound to find something truly unique that can become the focal point of your room or at that signature style your looking for.

  • Lighten up! Tired of that dingy, dark sofa. Consider a simple and inexpensive update by slip covering or adding colorful pillows for a fresh new look.

  • Change it out. Switch out rugs, lampshades and small accessories from room to room for a fresh look or blend in new items that will compliment the look you want!
