Diary of a Designer: Great Device for Showing off my Artwork

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

I love, love technology! Especially when it makes my life easier.
My new Digital Foci Picture Porter 35 has helps me so much when I need to show a potential client my artwork for licensing purposes! So instead of lugging around my art portfolio, I simply use my new Picture Porter 35, a device designed specifically as a Digital Photo Manager.

It’s the perfect digital camera companion to replace your notebook computer and allows me to travel light when I’m out in the field on a photo shoot or TV shoot or traveling to meet clients who want to see my artwork and other projects I’m working on! WOW!

There’s lots of ways to use this device but for now I’m really happy with how it’s helping my business!

All the best,

Diary of a Designer: Behind the Scenes Crafting for Breast Cancer Month

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

As the founder of www.CraftForHealth.com, I spoke about how crafting helps people heal and feel better through life challenges for National Breast Cancer Month. Here are some “behind the scenes” shots with TV-25 WPBF along with 4 fabulous Breast Cancer survivors. These women were all so inspiring to me! And a special thank you to www.LighthouseArtCenter.org for letting us tape in their fabulous open air studio!

Evelyne (left) is 82 years old and used clay sculpting to help her heal through her breast cancer. She is a 2 year survivor Your’s truly in the middle having fun chatting with this lovely lady and Kat (right) crafted beautiful Breast Cancer fashions to help her get through chemo, etc. She is a 7 year survivor!

Carolyn (left) is an 6 month survivor of breast cancer and is a wonderful glass artist. She went right back to work with her craft to help her keep her mind off her cancer. Kat (right) was having fun with Carolyn and TV 25′s cameraman Joel

Kat is a 7 year survivor and is still making her lovely fashions for breast cancer awareness. She models her fashions well in this photo!

Suzanne is an 8 year survivor and used sewing, uphostery and other crafts to help her cope with her breast cancer.

I love you ladies! Keep crafting!

Diary of a Designer: Pretty Porch Pouches

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Fellow designer friend Diane Hadaway was looking for a way to decorate her small front porch last year and decided to make her own “pretty porch pouch” that would serve multiple purposes! She has an extensive collection of floral decorator fabrics to choose from. The porch pouches work nicely inside too and are sturdy enough to use as a day totes too as they also have two large interior lined pockets to keep your necessities organized and easy to find.
