Handmade Party Invitations and Place Cards

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

I’m a a stickler for making my own party invitations.  And you know what???—-it’s worth the effort.  Why?  Because your guests will remember the event and be even more enticed to come to your party!  Plus making something handmade is just so therapeutic!

For this month Duetica Lettering System project–I decided to use a funky little font called Piper.  I just love the whimsical feel to this font especially for a little girls party.

Each of the little “dress” cards were all handmade from some original dress sketches I made.  Each dress form is the same pattern however each was embellished a little different from each other using a fine point pen, colored pencils and rhinestones!

Be sure to check out all my other design team members to see what they came up with using this simple font system!

Kathy Peterson Inspired: Sweet Crafty Cookie Signs

Friday, July 1st, 2011

For a bridal shower a few years ago I desided to get crafty and make some “sweet” little ol’ cookie signs.  You’ll need a sewing machine if you want to sew the words onto card stock.  And it’s worth the effort to make these because it  will look like you spent a lot of money just on signs!    I also made matching paper flowers by cutting out pedal shapes and glued them all together.  To top it all off–I added some pretty ribbon.  Enjoy!

Kathy Peterson Inspired: Wire Candles

Friday, July 1st, 2011

Here’s a fun project I did for Artistic wire a few years ago.  These candle designs are timeless and super easy to make.  Curling the wire and wrapping it around the candles is fun!  Kick it up a notch and knit the wire into stands and do the same–a little more time comsuming but gorgeous none the less!

Or keep it really simple and create a nest of wire  to frame you votive candles.

Stay Inspired and get wired!
