"Get inspired with Artistic Wire," invites Peterson
in this how-to
program.
Paper, leather, cardboard, and clay items are embellished with
wrapped, coiled, or crimped wire. Shot in her cozy workroom, Peterson
clearly explains how to use various gauges of wire, to decorate
purses, frames and other objects. A smooth mix of master and close-up
shots
shows
the projects during construction. Specific brand-name wire tools
are
mentioned, but hobbyist can take or leave the advice."

Creative Wire Jewelry by Kathy Peterson (Watson-Guptill
NY Publications)
What I really liked about this book is the fact
that the author, Kathy
Peterson, uses "artistic wire" exclusively. Artistic
wire is less
expensive colored wire available in most craft stores. The book
covers
the basic techniques of using the wig jig and wire worker and provides
a useful
introduction to other tools & findings used in the book. My
particular
favorite was the section on wire beads—very simple and yet
unique.

Simple home décor projects in this full-color collection
are made entirely
from fabric squares—whether cut from yardage or starting

napkins, handerchiefs, bandannas or washcloths. By folding, layering,
sewing, shaping and gluing, the author fashions over two dozen
projects.
Highlights include an Orient-infused pillow duo, a casual lampshade
enhanced with decoartively stitched squares, and a romantic linen
